Military Tents tend to have an odor  from the rubber coating on the Fly and floor.
If you set up military tents and let them air out a little bit, it is not so noticeable.
A trick to try from Serious campers is to Take a garbage can, fill it up
with water add 2 cups of Downy, let it soak for 3 hrs.
rinse and let air dry over night.
It will smell better than new.
