Take Note: We only list 404 pitch .063 in long bars because 3/8 and especially .050 gauge will cut crocked but it can be done with good results.
36 inch and longer bars require .063 gauge chain. 41 inch & longer you’ll have trouble not cutting or cutting crooked with 3/8 as the chain gets half worn. I use 3/8 on my 41 bars on my ms880 because it’s worth it. Your 066 is to small for a 50-60 inch bars but we sell them, 50 inch is Item number 273199859015
404 is the only way to get trouble free cutting but it’s slow. 3/8 will be twice as fast but you can only use the first 25-35% of the chain, you can then recut them for your smaller bars. It can be worth it to use 3/8 just letting you know. It’s 15.00 extra for 3/8

Made from formulated, cold rolled, annealed, heat treated, surface ground, and stress relieved steel. This provides the best possible characteristics of wear resistance, strength, durability, straightness and elasticity.
The Cannon Superbar power plus profile maximizes cutting power and chain speed while reducing damage from loose chain.
A precision ground groove to within .002" means straighter cuts. Each groove is individually centered for even rail wear and superior durability. This increases rail strength and reduces damage from pinches. Also, if the chain rides exactly square to the rail, the result is smoother and straighter cutting. Milling marks, commonly found in the competitions bars, are eliminated. Thus, the groove is tighter and sloppy chain travel occurs much less.
Cannon superbars have flame tempered rails that are hardened to 5 points more than the tie straps on the chain for much longer bar life. This hardening penetrates deep to allow for multiple bar repairs and rebuilds. With the chain running straight and true, the result is a faster and smoother cut.

We don't recommend it but this bar can be supplied in 3/8 if you want, 7.00 extra.
.050 gauge will not always cut straight on anything over 32 inch.
3/8 regardless of gauge will not cut straight on anything over 36 after you use 15-20% of the new chain.
3/8 .063 is the correct choice for fastest cutting; you just have to accept that you can't resharpen very many times. After the chain gets to worn down you can reuse them by cutting them up for smaller chains on smaller bars.
Oregon use to make durapro chain that would work for long bars but they quit making it.
