    ITEM DETAILS
    1. "Rungu" is Swahili for club or weapon.  A rungu is used by a warrior in the wild for protection against attack. In Maasai culture, the rungu is an important emblem of warrior status for young males. A special one is held by the speaker at important tribal gatherings. Hand carved from olive wood. Approximately 18 inches long, solid end knob approximately 7.5 to 8 inches around.
    2. Warrior shield is used by Maasai warriors for protection from dangerous animals and attack in the wild.  Maasai shields are made from cow or Cape buffalo hide.  The red paint is made from cows blood and the earth. The Maasai spear is hand carved from olive wood. Approximately 18 to 19 inches long and 2 to 3 inches wide at spear.
    3. Wooden spear is also made from olive tree wood and hand carved, then beaded by one of the "mamas" of the village. 18 inches long and 2 to 3 inches wide at the center of the spear.
